Debt and Deficit
The way that both Republicans and Democrats have been spending taxpayer dollars is unsustainable and reprehensible. Our national debt now exceeds 15 trillion dollars. Our debt to GDP ratio is now over 100% (most economists say the danger zone is 90% or greater).

Republicans want to cut government services, Democrats want to raise more revenue. I say we do both. Everything should be on the table. This includes so called sacred cows that both parties protect: defense, entitlements, social security and tax expenditures.

Bottom line: If you're not feeling a bit of pain as we get out of this mess, your not sacrificing and you're a part of the problem.
